About Me

Fences on main roads

I'd love to be able to afford a house further off the main road, but unfortunately I'm not there yet. In the meantime, we live near a main road, and we have a huge fence to keep the dogs and the kids inside and the noise out. It's a challenge to find a design for a really big fence that doesn't look like a jail fence! I have researched all of the options I have to keep everyone safe and make our yard as comfortable as possible, and I thought this info might be useful for other homeowners like me.

Less Obvious Benefits of Aluminum Fencing

by Ellen Wallo

You can install security cameras, motion detectors, and sound sensors, but if you do not have a reliable fence, your efforts to keep your residence safe are futile. Notably, a fence is an integral part of a home's security system; hence, you need to make critical considerations when choosing one for your property. Aluminium fencing is one of Australia's most popular fences due to its rust resistance property, affordability, aesthetic appeal, and durability. However, the four are only the obvious benefits of aluminium fencing that vendors use to make sales. As a homeowner, you should familiarise yourself with the less obvious advantages of aluminium fencing.

Light-Weight

If you want to install a fence around a vast piece of land, you should understand that the process is demanding. Usually, you must carry fencing materials to a project site, and several trips might begin to weigh down on your body. For instance, wooden slats are some of the common materials used in fencing. Unfortunately, the inputs are heavy and might take a toll on your body. On the other hand, aluminium fencing is quite the opposite because it is light. Therefore, it means you can erect an aluminium fence around your property in a day. Besides, you don't need a big team during the installation.

Easy Repairs/Replacements

A fence cannot last a lifetime; therefore, homeowners should consider ease of maintenance, repairs, and replacements when choosing fencing materials. For instance, concrete damage can force you to bring down a significant portion for repairs, a process that takes time and significant resources. Aluminium fencing is quite the opposite because you can quickly repair or replace individual slats in case of damage. Ease of repair saves copious amounts of time and money, which you can invest in other projects within your property. Besides, you might not need to hire a fence contractor to help you repair or replace aluminium fencing.

Versatility

Property owners install fences primarily for security reasons. However, if you are looking for a fence that offers your property much more than security, aluminium slats are the way to go. For example, besides security, aluminium fencing can be installed around a swimming pool to add an aesthetic appeal to the facility. Additionally, aluminium fencing offers unrivalled strength compared to fences that must be bolted, screwed, or tied together during installation, such as wooden slats. It can be attributed to the fact that aluminium fence slats can be welded together and delivered as a unit.
