About Me

Fences on main roads

I'd love to be able to afford a house further off the main road, but unfortunately I'm not there yet. In the meantime, we live near a main road, and we have a huge fence to keep the dogs and the kids inside and the noise out. It's a challenge to find a design for a really big fence that doesn't look like a jail fence! I have researched all of the options I have to keep everyone safe and make our yard as comfortable as possible, and I thought this info might be useful for other homeowners like me.

Why a Chain-Wire Fence Is an Excellent Option for Your Home

by Ellen Wallo

The use of chain-wire fencing on commercial and industrial properties is widespread across Australia. However, in recent times, this type of fence is increasingly being used in homes, owing to the many terrific benefits that it can provide.

If your home doesn't require much privacy, chain-wire fencing installation is an investment that can pay off really well. Read along to find out why.

Provides Security

If you live in a neighbourhood where security is a concern, installing a chain-wire fence can help to beef up your home security. While not all chain-link fencing products are designed to provide top security, choosing a product with heavy-gauge wire and small-sized mesh can help to keep intruders at bay.

Another security-enhancing feature of chain-mesh fences lies in their design. The woven wire design of these fence types makes it possible to see the other side of the fence. As a result, there are no blind spots for lurking intruders to take advantage of.

Easy to Install

Another top advantage of chain-wire fences is that they are so easy to install. Once the fencing posts have been put in place, the fencing installer just needs to secure the wire around the entire perimeter of the property.

Chain-wire fences are also pretty easy to remove. This makes them suitable for use as temporary fences.

Cost-Effective Option

If you are looking to install a fence that will serve you well without costing you an arm and a leg, look no further than a chain-mesh fence. This type of fence is one of the cheapest fencing options available on the market today. The fact that it can be installed easily leads to even further cost savings in terms of installation costs.

If you are able-bodied and love to take on a nice DIY project, you can even install your chain-link fence yourself.

Requires Minimal Upkeep

If you are looking for a fence that can withstand the elements without requiring much maintenance, a chain-wire fence is a great option for your residential property.

All you have to do to remove fresh dirt from your fence is to hose it down with fresh water. Occasionally scrub the fence with a solution of mild household detergent and a wire brush to remove stubborn dirt and then rinse the fence with clean water.

Contact a local fencing contractor that focuses on chain-wire fencing to learn more about installing this type of fence.
