About Me

Fences on main roads

I'd love to be able to afford a house further off the main road, but unfortunately I'm not there yet. In the meantime, we live near a main road, and we have a huge fence to keep the dogs and the kids inside and the noise out. It's a challenge to find a design for a really big fence that doesn't look like a jail fence! I have researched all of the options I have to keep everyone safe and make our yard as comfortable as possible, and I thought this info might be useful for other homeowners like me.

Three Crucial Precautions for Using a Temporary Wire Fence

by Ellen Wallo

If you are looking for a convenient fencing solution, you should think about installing a temporary wire structure. These wire fences are favourable for use in construction and other worksites where work needs might change. For instance, you should use a temporary fence if you will need to increase or reduce your area of coverage. These structures are portable, and they are not demanding in relation to installation.

Moreover, they are inexpensive for use, especially during short-term projects. However, it is important to note that temporary fences can be unstable since they are not affixed to the ground using concrete footings or permanent bolts. Therefore, you will need to use the fencing correctly to ensure that the structures are safe and secure. Here are simple guidelines to keep in mind while using temporary wire fencing.

Install Secure Stands

You should choose stable stands to support your temporary wire fence. In simple terms, the stands will be responsible for keeping the fencing in one position. If this base is not steady enough to keep the fence in place, the structure might topple after exposure to stress. The right stands will depend on the design and weight of the fencing. Lighter fences can be supported using metal flat stands. However, you will get more support if you use concrete-filled feet.

Think about Screening

Temporary fences do not promote privacy on the pertinent worksite. Therefore, you might need to evaluate your options if you would like to improve your level of privacy. The most convenient solution involves placing a screen or shade cloth over the site fencing. This is an inexpensive idea, but it can cause the fence to be unstable. Simply speaking, the movement of air will be blocked by the material, and this will increase pressure on the fence. If you decide to use a shade cloth, you should plan on bracing the fencing to prevent collapse under the stress of high wind.

Protect from Debris

Finally, you should ensure that there is no debris around your fencing. If you are conducting construction, renovation or other similar projects, you will probably produce a lot of waste materials. These unwanted materials will most likely end up at the edge of the site, which is likely to be along your temporary fence. This placement of debris can be highly dangerous because the fence will be under pressure. If the debris falls on the fence, some damage could occur. Therefore, keep your temporary fencing clear by managing materials and waste on your site.

If you're looking for temporary fencing hire for your worksite, use these guidelines to reap the best possible results.
