About Me

Fences on main roads

I'd love to be able to afford a house further off the main road, but unfortunately I'm not there yet. In the meantime, we live near a main road, and we have a huge fence to keep the dogs and the kids inside and the noise out. It's a challenge to find a design for a really big fence that doesn't look like a jail fence! I have researched all of the options I have to keep everyone safe and make our yard as comfortable as possible, and I thought this info might be useful for other homeowners like me.

Types of Commercial Fencing

by Ellen Wallo

Consumers have the luxury of choosing from numerous options when opting for a high-quality commercial fence. Although the different types of commercial fencing mentioned below are best suited for specific purposes, all of them do a commendable job of safeguarding your property. Have a look below for a detailed report!

Barbed Wire Fencing

Relatively inexpensive, a barbed wire is installed in commercial fences to make the property more secure. Composed of sharp metal, it can be attached to any fence and the sharp edges are arranged at intervals along the strands to make trespassing seem impossible. The barbed wires are usually placed atop walls to stop intruders from climbing over. Unlike other commercial fencing, barbed wire fencing is easy to make as it only requires a wire, fence posts and fixing devices such as staples. So, if you're looking for a cost-effective way to provide security to your property, barbed wire fencing is the best option for you.

Ornamental Iron Fencing

Ornamental Iron Fencing is usually reserved for people who believe in the importance of maintaining an aesthetic appeal in their commercial fence. It is a lot more attractive and appealing than barbed wire fencing. Contrary to popular belief, ornamental iron fencing is made from forged steel or aluminium and not wrought steel or aluminium. Most of the modern ornamental iron fencing is rust-resistant.

Commercial Chain Link Fencing

This type of fencing is ideal for residential, commercial and light industrial use. Galvanized, aluminized and vinyl-coated chain link fencing are some of the different types of chain link fences. Since the chain link fence can be installed in different heights, it is perfect for tennis courts, baseball fields or containing a playground. Basically, any sport where there is a requirement of containing flying balls will need commercial chain link fencing. Although it doesn't look half as menacing as other fencing, it is highly effective.

Automatic Security Gates and Operators

An automatic security gate can be installed to increase the level of security. The mechanical device will prevent intruders without proper authorization from entering the premises. The two types of electric gate openers are hydraulic and electromechanical openers, and the gates can either be opened with a manual device or a wireless transmitter. The manufacturers of these gates have also been clairvoyant to fit the openers with solar panels; this prevents the gates from malfunctioning during the time of blackouts and load shedding and prevents the gates from malfunctioning during the time of black outs and load shedding.
