Fences on main roads

I'd love to be able to afford a house further off the main road, but unfortunately I'm not there yet. In the meantime, we live near a main road, and we have a huge fence to keep the dogs and the kids inside and the noise out. It's a challenge to find a design for a really big fence that doesn't look like a jail fence! I have researched all of the options I have to keep everyone safe and make our yard as comfortable as possible, and I thought this info might be useful for other homeowners like me.

Pool Fencing Solutions

by Ellen Wallo

When looking to install new fencing for your pool, you have to keep in mind that pool fencing solutions are governed by extremely strict government laws. As a result, you have to make sure that whatever fence you plan to build complies with the Australian standards regarding pool fences.

While pool fences are generally not that expensive, the costs can easily add up if you have a custom sized pool with an above average square footage.  If you are not decided in regards to what type of fencing solution you should install, here are some ideas:

Tubular Fencing Solutions

Tubular fences generally consist of a combination in terms of composition of aluminium panels. Because of that, they usually end up costing less than glass fences. Tubular fences come in a wide variety of colours. This allows you to combine the colours in such a way that you obtain the nuance that suits you, and you can even have different colours for different areas of your pool.

They don't require constant maintenance, and are generally very easy to handle. With tubular fencing solutions, you get a highly durable fence that properly prevents small animals or children from crossing over.

Glass Fences

In terms of pool fencing solutions, glass fences offer the most innovative concept which can help bring a modern design to your house and pool area. The main advantage of these fences is that they are completely see through, allowing you to immerse yourself in the surrounding environment as you swim. Another benefit of glass fences is that the demarcation line between the pool and the ground is transparent, which provides a smooth transition from one area to another.

Brick Fencing

If you are one of those people who want to make a permanent change in their pool area or garden, a brick fence is the ideal solution. While it can be quite costly to purchase and install, a brick fencing solution will provide you with the highest possible amount of protection, unlike glass fences which are mostly for design enthusiasts.

With brick slabs, you could also build a patio near the pool area, which can then be used in order to relax during hot summer days. The primary downside of these fences is that they are almost impossible to install by yourself. If you were looking for an easy DIY solution, you should think twice before considering going with brick fences.
